AIR DEFENCE SYSTEMS
LeFlaSys
_The light air-defence system (LeFlaSys), a cooperative development
in which KMW holds a 50% stake, is used to protect ground troops,
airports as well as communication and port facilities from
air attacks, and most particularly attacks from low-flying aircraft,
helicopters and cruise missiles. The entire air-defence system comprises
a weapon carrier (Ozelot based on Wiesel 2), a
reconnaissance and fire control vehicle (Wiesel 2 AFF) and a battery
command vehicle/air-defence support cell (Wiesel 2 UF/BF), as well as
the workshop equipment (WSA).
ASRAD
_The ASRAD-R (Advanced Short Range Air Defence System - RBS) is a German designed vehicle-mounted short-range surface-to-air missile system, utilizing the BOLIDE laser-guided SAM missile, and the Ericsson Microwave System HARD 3D radar.
The weapon system can fire four RBS 70 missiles, with the system being marketed with the modernized version, called BOLIDE. The ASRAD-R system has been developed by the German Rheinmetall Defence Electronics, in conjunction with Saab Bofors Dynamics (basing the technology on the Saab Bofors Bolide Missile and the Ericsson Microwave Systems HARD 3D search radar.

Skyshield
_The Skyshield 35 is an air defense system specially designed to counter high demanding threats such as unmanned, fast and agile aircraft. Usually, it comprises the command post, a fire control unit (Skyguard) and two 35mm 1,000-caliber guns. The command post can be set to a distance of up to 500 meters from the fire control unit. The 35mm guns, with a rate of fire of 1,000 rounds/minute, can fire Ahead programmable ammunition with optimized effects against small and high-speed threats such as missiles.
The Skyshield air defense system is intended to protect high value facilities from air attacks. It can be networked with other air defense systems to provide extended area air defense instead of point defense which is its primary role.

Oerlikon 35mm
_The Oerlikon 35 mm twin cannon is a towed anti-aircraft gun made by Rheinmetall Air Defence AG. The system was originally designated as 2 ZLA/353 ML but this was later changed to GDF-001. It was developed in the late 1950s and is used by around 30 countries. Over the years it has been upgraded several times and the latest version, the GDF-005, features a 3D computer-controlled sight with an integrated laser range-finder and digital control system.
Rheinmetal 20mm
_Rheinmetall Zwillingsflak twin-gun anti-aircraft system began development in 1968 to meet the requirements of the low-level air defence units of the German Air Force. The 20mm cannons are specifically designed to engage low and very low approaching enemy aircraft with all appropriate means in time to prevent them from firing their weapons or delivering their ordnance, or at least to prevent them from carrying out an accurate attack on an Air Force installation.
It has been in use by a wide variety of nations over the years and to date is still in active service in significant numbers. The can easily be mounted on utility vehicles and can also be used against ground targets.
