UNMANNED AIRCRAFT
KZO
_The Kleinfluggerät Zielortung (KZO) is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) developed as the Brevel system to provide artillery units with precise, real-time target location at the brigade level. It can operate by day, night and adverse weather conditions. The KZO airborne reconnaissance system can provide battlefield imagery as well as target data.
The interference-free, real-time, wideband data-link with a maximum range over more than 120 kilometers is supplied by EADS. The small size and reduced silhouette along with the fact that KZO is made of plastic translates into a low optical and radar signatures thus providing overall increased survivability to an expendable unmanned platform. Actually, the German Army considers KZO virtually invisible. KZO is also cheaper and simpler than other reconnaissance and targeting systems.

EMT Luna
_The EMT Luna, formerly known as the Luna X-2000, is an all-weather, low altitude, unmanned air vehicle (UAV) system. It can penetrate more than 100 kilometers in enemy airspace providing real-time Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) information as well as target location in support of artillery units.
The low cost Luna UAV system uses commercial components and modular architecture to achieve operational flexibility. The small air vehicle incorporates TV and Infrared sensors providing real time video and high resolution imagery. The launch operation is performed by means of a catapult system and the landing is performed releasing a parachute or using a net. The air vehicle autonomously can follow a pre-programmed flight path performing surveillance tasks or that path can be updated in-flight by the ground operator/controller using a two-way microwave data-link. The ground control station and the catapult launch system can be carried by an utility vehicle or shelter and airlifted using medium transport helicopters.

Taifun-RS
_The Taifun-RS attack drone has been developed to locate and destroy armored and non-armored targets at ranges of up to 500 kilometers. It can cover a search zone of up to 2,000 square kilometers while seeking and classifying potential targets. In addition to the attack role, the Taifun can also perform as a reconnaissance system.
A dual mode radar and IR seeker has been provided to Taifun as well as a radar-absorbing coating to carry out its mission in stealth conditions. This seeker supplies real-time imagery that is relayed back to the ground control station. Flight endurance of this kind of UAV is approximately four hours.
