ASSAULT RIFLES
HK XM8
_The XM8 is a prototype infantry weapon system. It's development commenced in the late 1990s. It was developed by the German Heckler & Koch company in cooperation with the US Army. While the US program was cancelled, the HK XM8 is still being offered to a select group of allies.
It is a gas operated, selective fire weapon, chambered for the standard NATO 5.56 x 45 mm ammunition. The XM8 was developed from the HK G36 assault rifle into a modular system, which could be reconfigured into one of the available variants, depending on mission requirement. It is available in some baseline versions: personal defense weapon, carbine, marksman rifle and squad automatic weapon. The entire modular construction of the XM8 is built around the receiver with bolt group. Barrels and other modules can be swapped quickly, depending on operational requirements. Barrels are available in several sizes. A baseline carbine version if fitted with a 318 mm barrel. In tests the XM8 showcased a reliability that was not matched by a large number of combat proven rifles.

HK416
_The HK416 is an assault rifle designed and manufactured by Heckler & Koch. It is a modified version of the American M4 carbine with many changes, most notably a new gas operating system from the Heckler & Koch G36. Customers have the option of purchasing a new upper receiver, buffer and drive spring to refurbish M4s or buying a completely new build HK416.
The HK416 is being used by many of the world's best Special Forces and/or elite units. The weapon itself is considered far more reliable that the M4, upon which it is based.

HK G36
_The G36 had been designed in the early 1990s by Heckler & Koch company (HK). It was intended to replace the ageing G3 rifle in service with the Bundeswehr. The new rifle has also been aimed at the export customers. It is worth mentioning that during trials a prototype of the HK G36 was rated higher than the Austrian Steyr AUG.
The Heckler & Koch G36 is chambered for the 5.56 x 45 mm standard NATO round. It is a conventional gas operated, selective fire rifle. It uses some proven elements of the previous G3 rifle design. Internally it also bears a lot of similarity with the US Armalite AR-18 automatic rifle.
The G36 is described as a good, accurate and reliable weapon. It is also simple in operation and maintenance. This rifle is compatible with the HK AG36 40-mm underbarrel grenade launcher.
