WHEELED ARMORED VEHICLES
Boxer MRAV
_
The expanded range of tasks assigned to modern armies requires
optimally protected, highly mobile transport vehicles that can be
reliably used with a high payload capacity under extremely
adverse environmental conditions. The BOXER meets these demands head
on. Its modular construction allows a multiplicity of mission-specific
vehicle variants. Therefore, the vehicle family consists
of a uniform drive module as well as user-specific deployment modules.
Its comprehensive protection system against mines, IEDs and ballistic
threats ensures maximum crew survivability.
GFF4/Grizzly
The GFF4 vehicle family from Krauss-Maffei Wegmann redefines
protection and flexibility for vehicles in its class. The safety cell,
which connects the driver cab and storage area, protects the
vehicle crew and more than four tons of payload from hits, mines and
Improvised Explosive Devices (IED). The multifunctional, fully protected
storage area with a volume of more than 17 m³
results in optimised flexibility and a wide range of variants. With an
overall weight of up to 25 tons and an extremely capable off-road
chassis, the GFF4 offers outstanding tactical mobility in
tactical operations
Fennek
_The FENNEK vehicle family
is the answer to various requirement profiles: FENNEK is characterized
by outstanding and almost noiseless mobility in any terrain,
modern sensor systems, extensive protection, self-defence capabilities
and a high level of autonomy.
The three-man crew - driver, commander and radio operator/observer -
can operate autonomously for up to five days. Equipment, operating
materials, drinking water and food are carried in the
vehicle. Air transportable in the C130, the FENNEK can be moved
quickly and easily, even to distant areas of deployment.
Dingo
_
As a consequent evolution of the DINGO 1, which has been in use
since 2001, the DINGO 2 is the safest and best-protected wheeled vehicle
in its class. Several international users rely
on its optimal balance of protection, mobility and payload. Both DINGO
models demonstrated their outstanding performance on extremely
difficult terrains and under extreme climatic conditions during
operations in Bosnia-Herzegovina (SFOR), Macedonia (TFF), Kosovo
(KFOR), Lebanon (UNIFIL), Chad (now MINURCAT) and last but not least in
Afghanistan (ISAF). Both the ease of air transfer and the
high tactical mobility of the DINGO are significant advantages for
these deployments.
MUNGO
_The MUNGO family of
air-portable vehicles is tailored specifically to the requirements of
highly-mobile airborne forces: airportable in a CH53 or CH47,
protected, highly-mobile, multi-purpose and logistically easy to
supply. Weighing just 5.3 tons overall, the MUNGO can transport ten
fully equipped soldiers. The MUNGO is the ideal solution for
deploying airportable forces in crisis situations. The vehicle can be
disarmed for loading on a CH53 or CH47 transport helicopter or armed for
deployment in only five minutes. C130 and A400M
transport aircraft can even be used for transporting two or three
MUNGOs together with their ten-man crew. The MUNGO can also be
transported by helicopter as an external load.
Armoured Multi Purpose Vehicle (AMPV)
_Jointly developed by Rheinmetall and Krauss-Maffei-Wegmann, the AMPV
is specifically designed for out-of-area operations, meeting the full
range of requirements for mobility and ruggedness. The passenger cell
can be quickly fitted with add-on armour in response to higher-intensity
threats. Highly ergonomic, the vehicle comfortably carries a five-man
crew. Its advanced bullet-resistant windows combine excellent visibility
with maximum protection. High-performance climate control technology
and NBC filtration ensure prolonged battlefield sustainability.
YAK
_The protected multipurpose vehicle Yak is designed for international
operations, meeting the growing need of the armed forces for protected
transport capacity. Thanks to its modular design, it can be very quickly
modified from one mission to the next. It is thus able to take on a
whole host of different missions, ranging from medical evacuation,
military law enforcement and bomb disposal operations to monitoring and
reconnaissance, command and control, border protection, transport and logistics.
Wisent
_Thanks to its strategic, operational and tactical mobility as well
as its comprehensive protection concept, the Wisent family of transport
vehicles meets the mission requirements of today's armed forces in ideal
fashion. The Wisent's crew and cargo are protected from a wide variety
of combat threats, including small arms fire, landmines, artillery, IEDs
and NBC agents. When equipped with a power generator, NBC ventilation system and air conditioning, the multipurpose build-on can be detached and deployed on a fully autarkic basis.
